Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Ali Gohar Khan has said that despite the punishment of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife in the Al-Qadir Trust case, the government will continue negotiations.
The PTI chief said “discussions with the government will continue and the PTI will wait for the government to form a judicial commission on the May 9 and November 26 incidents”.
PTI has submitted its charter of demands. And it will wait to see how the government responds to the demands,” Gauhar said.
He said that Imran Khan’s morale is high and he is not afraid of punishment. He claimed that the sentence in the Al-Qadir reference will be quashed by the Supreme Court soon.
The PTI Chairman reminded that Imran has been constantly telling the Supreme Court that people do not get justice from the lower courts and this breaks the faith of the nation in the judiciary.
“[Talks] It will not cause an abortion [judgment]Gohar said with reference to Imran that immediately after an accountability court sentenced the former prime minister to 14 years in prison in the $190 million Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
Imran Khan said that negotiations with the government will continue but if there is no progress within the seven-day deadline given to the other side, there will be no further negotiations.
Barrister Gauhar said that nations are destroyed when there is no justice in the society. Requesting people not to lose hope, he said that justice will be done soon.
Talks between the government and PTI began on December 23 and the two sides have so far held three rounds of talks to discuss the thorny issues and find solutions that can bring political and economic stability to the country. .
To a question whether the backdoor channel was still being used for communication, Gauhar hesitated for a second and said “it is the channel, which will continue”.
Apparently, the third round of talks was initially delayed pending the announcement of the verdict in the £190 million corruption case as the government side continued to demand a Charter of Demands from the PTI while the PTI insisted that it It will present its demands only after its negotiators. A meeting with Imran Khan in jail was allowed to finalize it.
