Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage and Culture, Attaullah Tarar on Thursday appreciated the important role of Turkai in preserving the historical heritage of Radio Pakistan.
He was speaking on the occasion of the inauguration of the newly constructed. Pakistan Turkey Friendship Museum At the headquarters of Radio Pakistan, Tarar termed the initiative as a historic success. He emphasized that the museum is an important step to preserve Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, with Radio Pakistan being an important institution of the country’s history.
“Nations that fail to be proud of and proud of their past achievements can never develop,” Tarr said, highlighting the importance of preserving historical landmarks.
Highlighting the deep friendship between Pakistan and Turkey, the minister said that the relationship between the two countries dates back to the pre-independence period. He recalled the solidarity shown by the Muslims of the subcontinent during the Khilafat movement, including the donation of jewels and valuables to help the Turkish people.
People of Pakistan consider Turkey as their second home. The hearts of both nations beat in solidarity,” said Tarr, stressing the need to pass on these cherished ties to future generations.
He also acknowledged the Turkish Cooperation and Liaison Agency (TIKA) for its ongoing cooperation in Pakistan, with the museum being an important initiative among the more than 700 projects completed by TIKA in the last 14 years.
According to Tarar, the museum is designed to educate the youth about the historical significance of Pakistan-Turkey relations and further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The minister also appreciated the important role of Radio Pakistan in national development, especially in promoting education, art, culture and economic awareness. He highlighted the organization’s invaluable contribution during natural calamities and wars, including its uplifting patriotic songs.
“The Pakistan-Turkey Friendship Radio Museum will serve as an enduring symbol of the strong ties between our nations and bring our people closer together,” Tarar remarked.
Ambassador of Turkey to Pakistan, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, also addressed the ceremony and reiterated the brotherly relations between the two countries. He expressed pride in Turkey’s role in preserving the historical heritage of Radio Pakistan and praised the resilience of the Pakistani people.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary Information and Broadcasting Ambrin John, Director General of Radio Pakistan Saeed Ahmed Sheikh and other senior representatives of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
