Quetta: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Tuesday allowed Dr Mehrang Baloch to meet with his relatives, while BNPM chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal announced the arrest and arrest of its leaders during a shutdown strike in various towns of the province on March 28.
The two-member BHC bench, which consisted of judges-Rosai Khan Barrch and Shukat Ali Rashani-heard a petition filed by Maharang’s sister Nadia Baloch against the imprisonment.
In this petition, lawyer Imran Baloch mentions state officials and officials as respondents.
The petitioner requested the court to issue a direction to the government workers to provide details of the cases against Mehrang.
Accepting the petition for the hearing, the bench issued notices to the parties and allowed a week to provide details of the cases after the request of the Balochistan Advocate General and the Prosecutor General.
Later, the court issued a brief order saying that the petitioner’s lawyer claimed that Maharang was arrested “without any reasoning” under Section 3 of the Public Order Ordinance, which was a violation of constitutional articles 15, 16 and 19.
The order said, “The point needs to be considered.”
“After admission to the petition, the applicant’s lawyer filed a petition with the request that the relatives and his lawyer could be allowed to meet them in the District Jail Hadda Quetta.
It is worth mentioning here that every prisoner has the right to meet his advice or relatives. Therefore, the request has been accepted and the detection advice and its relatives are allowed to meet.
BNP-M Long March on March 28
Separately, in a post on X, BNPM President Sardar Akhtar Mengal announced a long march on March 28 against the arrest of BEC leaders.
“I declare a long march from Wood to Quetta, against the arrest of my daughters and the disgrace of our mothers and sisters,” said Mengal.
“I will guide this march myself, and invite all the Baloch brothers and sisters, young and old to join us this march,” he added.
He also wrote: “This is not just a matter of arresting our daughters, it is a question of our national dignity, our honor and our existence. We will not remain silent until our mothers, sisters and daughters are safe.”
Shutter down strike in other coastal cities, Gwadar
Meanwhile, all businesses, banks, shops and petrol pumps in Gwadar, Dr Mehrang, Babu Baloch and Sammy Din Baloch, were closed in protest against all BEC leaders and protests against cases.
The protest took place a day later, when Karachi police arrested Sammy and several others when a protest was held during recent arrests of BEC -led arrests and a crackdown on Quetta sit -in.
Similar situation and was also seen in My, Pasni and other coastal towns of the province, where a complete shutdown strike is underway by the association of traders.
On Friday evening, police used tear gas and water cannons, and fired empty bullets to disperse the protesters, who held a sit -in on Sarib Road near the University of Balochistan, against the alleged disappearances, including Babarg Baloch. As a result of each other’s actions, the provincial government and the BEC have reported the killings on their sides, the worker group claimed to have killed three and 13 others, and police have said that 10 of their personnel have suffered.
The situation increased when BEC chief organizer Mehrang was arrested earlier a week and was registered with 150 others on charges of terrorism.
In response to BYC’s call, shutter down strikes were held in different cities of Balochistan in the weekend. These include Quetta, Panjur, Kalat, Tribes, Mastung, Kharn, Chaghe, Dalbandin and Dhdar.
