The Calcutta High Court dismissed the Zareen Khan criminal case.

Famous Bollywood actress Zareen Khan withdrew her 2018 criminal case from the Calcutta High Court.

The case started when Phoenix Talent Management accused them of breach of contract after paying them Rs 12 lakh, which means a loss of INR 42 crore.

The actress was scheduled to perform at the Kali Puja event in November 2018.

He has been convicted under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The complaint also charged him with conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust and intimidation.

Moreover, the charge sheet against him was presented in 2023. The trial court of Sealdah heard the case.

Zareen Khan He replied that the matter was purely contractual and not illegal.

Justice Babhas Ranjan D agreed, saying that civil cases should not be tried in criminal courts and should not be used as a tool of coercion.

Moreover, he pointed out that a court in Mumbai is already dealing with a similar civil case.

The High Court’s conclusion was that the dispute did not justify the pursuit of criminal charges.

While the criminal prosecution was ordered to be dismissed as per the application made by Zareen Khan.

His defense was represented by senior counsel Ayan Bhattacharjee assisted by Priyanka Agarwal and Priyanka Sarkar.

The complaint was represented by senior advocate Saurav Chatterjee and his team.

Additionally, the verdict ended five years of the actress’ criminal trial, but the civil case is still pending.
