- Talat CH accused Imran Khan of allowing terrorists to settle in Pakistan
- Barrister Gohar termed the remarks “in fact”.
Islamabad: Minister of State for Home Affairs Talal Chaudhry and PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Friday accused of increasing terrorism and policy failures.
In a video message, Minister of State for Home Affairs Talul Chowdhury attacked the PTI and said that he facilitated the militants during his tenure.
He said that the founder of PTI created a “red carpet” for the terrorists, which could have settled in Pakistan. “Instead of condemning terrorism, PTI is encouraging it,” he said, adding that no PTI leader has been targeted by terrorist groups.
On the other hand, while talking to a private TV, PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Ali Khan clearly rejected Chaudhry’s comment about the Taliban’s return and dismissed them in fact.
“Pakistan is currently facing a serious security crisis … this is not a time of baseless allegations,” he said, “he called on the government to focus on counter -terrorism efforts rather than political point scoring.”
He added that official records show that decisions were made regarding the settlement of the militants after July 2022, denouncing claims that the PTI had facilitated their return during their tenure.
He also condemned Chaudhry’s statement that the terrorists did not target PTI, and declared it irresponsible. “We strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and any attack on Pakistani nationals,” he added.
Separate, Chaudhry, while talking to a private TV, pointed to Pakistan’s 2,600 km long border with Afghanistan, saying that it was a joint responsibility between the two countries.
He said that Afghanistan has failed to stop cross -border infiltration, which has worsened Pakistan’s security situation.
He also criticized the provincial governments and said that sensitive intelligence was often provided to the provinces, and in Sindh and Punjab, the Anti -Terrorism Department (CTD) takes action on the basis of such information.
He lamented, “In Nawaz Sharif’s time, all political forces stood united against terrorism, but today, we have failed to create a united story.”
Chaudhry further alleged that after 2018, the other government failed to implement the National Action Plan (NAP), which resulted in the restoration of militant activities.
According to data released by a think tank, the Pakistan Institute for Conflicts and Security Studies (PICS), terrorist attacks have increased sharply in January 2025 compared to the previous month.
