Swat: On Thursday, public representatives, along with a large number of locals, thwarted the National Highway Authority (NHA) attempt to set up a tax toll plaza in the depot area near Bab E Swat in the land of Swat District.
According to Provincial Minister for Housing Dr Amjad Ali and several local representatives, the NHA tried to set up a tax toll plaza in the Depot area on the entrance to Swat District. However, a large number of local representatives and the public emerged in the protest against the NHA plan.
On the occasion, Provincial Minister for Housing Dr. Amjad Ali, Swat City Mayor Shahid Ali, Chairman of Kashaf Tehsil Kashif Khan and other public representatives also arrived and the tax toll plaza box was transferred to TMA Kinat.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amjad Ali said that Swat was an area that was affected by a variety of disasters, but the federal government was permanently ignoring this fact.
He regretted that the federal government took another cruel move by allowing the NHA to set up a tax toll plaza in Swat, and warned that the people of the region should be taxed here in any case. Will not tolerate.
It is to be remembered that a few months ago, the NHA also tried to set up a tax toll plaza, but the people had thwarted the effort.
Now once again, the NHA is trying to impose tax on people by installing the Toll Plaza Box, but public representatives and locals have made it clear that they will not allow such cruel taxes in the region. –
