Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan believes his recent conviction in the £190 million case is part of a political ploy to force him into a deal, and has rejected any suggestion of negotiations or compromise. has been rejected. .
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Imran’s sister Aleema Khan informed about her brother’s stand and said that the founder chairman of PTI has strongly rejected the idea of a deal.
“He is not going to make a deal. He has no intention of negotiating with the government. Aleema Khan remarked that he will continue to face cases against him, no matter how long he is in jail.
Imran Khan’s comments were in response to his conviction in the £190 million Al Qadir Trust case, in which both he and his wife Bushra Bibi were convicted. However, Khan believes the sentence is politically motivated and designed to break his resolve. Aleema Khan further clarified that the decision has nothing to do with any ongoing negotiation committees.
He stressed that his brother had advocated for the case to be taken to higher courts where it could be thoroughly examined. He added that more facts will emerge as the case progresses through the legal system.
He also questioned the fairness of the judicial process, pointing out that figures like former President Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif were not held accountable in similar cases. Why are only Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi facing these charges? he asked.
The PTI leadership has expressed confidence that the higher courts will give a fair hearing and allow them to present detailed cases. Khan’s legal team is preparing to challenge the sentence, believing the action will shed light on alleged political biases in the judicial system.
Aleema Khan also criticized the involvement of some judges, citing previous concerns raised by the Supreme Court over judges such as Nasir Javed Rana, suggesting that the judicial environment in Pakistan was compromised by political influence. is
