Three days are left to apply for motorcycle license under the relief scheme.
ISLAMABAD: The Traffic Police has reminded motorcyclists that only three days are left to take advantage of the ongoing relief measures for obtaining learner and regular driving licenses. The scheme, which has received an overwhelming response from the public, is slated to end on November 30.
After this date authorities will start cracking down on unlicensed riders. Citizens are encouraged to visit licensing centers with their original ID cards to secure their licenses and avoid legal action.
Additional Inspector General Mirza Farhan Baig highlighted the success of the initiative, noting that more than 1.2 million citizens have already benefited from it.
According to official figures, 460,940 people have obtained learner’s licenses while 764,961 people have obtained regular driving licenses. Moreover, over 185,000 licenses were renewed during the relief period.
A traffic police spokesperson urged motorcyclists to act fast before the move expires. The spokesperson said that from December 1, the 42-day period for learner’s licenses will be strictly enforced again.
The scheme has been hailed as an important step towards improving road safety and encouraging compliance with traffic rules. Motorcyclists are requested not to miss this opportunity as the deadline is approaching.
