Three terrorist tanks became neutral in IBO: ISPR

Rawalpindi: According to the army’s media wing, three terrorists were killed in a fire with security forces during an intelligence operation in the Tank District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday.

In a statement, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said security personnel operated on the presence of terrorists in the area.

It added that security forces “effectively engage terrorists” at their location, causing the three to “be sent to hell”.

The ISPR said he also recovered weapons and ammunition, adding that he was active in several terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians.

The ISPR said a sanitation operation was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area. The statement concluded that “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the curse of terrorism from the country.”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif praised the security forces and paid tribute to him after a successful operation.

“We are fully committed to rooting out terrorism from the country,” he said.

Similarly, President Asif Ali Zardari also praised the security forces for the operation.

In a statement issued after the operation, the President said that actions against terrorists will continue till the complete elimination of the curse from the country.

He said that the entire nation stands with security forces in the fight against terrorism.

Moreover, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the timely action of the security forces and said that he had shown professionalism by eliminating three terrorists.

Naqvi praised the security forces for his successful operation and said that the nation was proud of its professionalism.

He said that the security forces deserve praise to thwart terrorists’ blasphemous intentions, adding that their efforts to maintain peace and stability are commendable and the entire nation stands with them in the fight against terrorism.

Naqvi confirmed that operations would continue till the complete elimination of terrorists.

Earlier this week, 16 terrorists were killed while five soldiers were martyred when security forces responded to a terrorist attack on Banu Cantonment in the KP district.

On Tuesday evening, terrorists attacked the Banu Cantonment circle with two explosives equipped with two explosives. Thirteen citizens lost their lives, while a mosque resulted in 32 injured and a residential building collapsed due to suicide blasts, plus partially damaged the wall of the frame.

According to a report published by the Pakistan Think Tank, Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICS) based in Islamabad, terrorist attacks increased significantly in February, but civilian casualties increased sharply.

The report, reporting terrorist attacks across Pakistan, was published in February when a suicide bomber trapped a car loaded with explosives in a military convoy in North Waziristan last week, killing two soldiers and injuring 10 others.
