Washington: US President Donald Trump thanked him for the support of the Muslim American community during the 2024 presidential election, as he hosted the first Ramadan Iftar dinner in the White House.

Addressing the event, Trump acknowledged “hundreds of thousands” Muslim Americans who supported them in last year’s elections and promised to avenge their support.

Trump said, “When we respect the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, start saying this to my Muslim friends, we have a lot of tonight, and I think we have a lot of world in the world based on the results of Michigan, other places, but I just wanted to say good -bye to all those people, Ramadan.

He also took the opportunity to emphasize his administration’s commitment to peace in the Middle East, highlighting the success of the Ibrahim treaties, which normalizes relations between Israel and several Muslim -majority countries.

He added, “We are continuing our promises to the Muslim community. My administration is engaged in a lot of diplomacy to establish lasting peace in the Middle East, and is based on the historic Ibrahim agreements, about which everyone said it would be impossible, and now we will start to fill them.”

Trump’s remarks also called for his administration’s ongoing diplomacy, saying he was “promising” to the Muslim community. He cited his efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, which included a pledge to end the conflict between Israel and Gaza, which led to a temporary ceasefire before taking office.

The president’s comments have come to the forefront of violence in Gaza, Israel began its aggression earlier this month.

Trump stands with Israel’s actions, which has promised to increase military aid, and under the vision of his administration, he proposes to control Gaza to develop the region.

It is unclear how many Muslims were involved in the Iftar on Thursday night, but there were only more than 60 people in the room.

Many of them were non -Muslim political figures, including Trump’s allies, such as Sen Lindsay Graham, Director of the National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabard, and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Lando.
