TTAP refuses to participate in NA Security Fort, citing Imran’s absence

Islamabad: On Tuesday, Opposition Alliance Tharak Thafoz-Constitution (TTAP) refused to attend the parliamentary National Security Committee meeting.

Although the PTI had agreed to attend the security fat yesterday, it met Imran, a founder in jail before the meeting.

Including its demand, TTAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that the founder of PTI should also be invited to such a meeting and without it, no meeting would be of any importance.

During a joint opposition press conference at the KP House in Islamabad, Achakzai – the head of the Pashtun Milli Amy Party (PKMAP), said that representatives of every political party should be invited to any national security meeting.

Achakzai was helped by PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Majalis Wahdat-Muslimin (MWM) Chief Senator Raja Nasir Abbas, and Sunni Attihad Council (SIC) MNA Sahib Zadda Hameed Raza.

The PKMAP chief has further claimed that the Superintendent of Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, where Imran has been imprisoned, does not allow PTI leaders or other MNAs to meet with former Premier.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said the decision was made at a political committee meeting on Monday.

No PTI representative will attend the meeting, except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandpur, who will participate in his official capacity.

Raja stressed that PTI was against any military operation and demanded that Imran Khan be released on parole.

Al -Raja Nasir Abbas and Sahib Zada ​​Hameed Raza also echoed similar concerns and said that Imran Khan should be included in the key security discussions.

Opposition leader Omar Ayub in the National Assembly criticized the short notice for the security meeting, highlighting that PTI leaders have been refused to access Imran Khan despite judicial orders.
