Lahore: Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) senior vice president Khwaja Sohail Iftikhar has said that the PTF has taken a major step towards improvement of players through the latest gymnasium, high quality café terrace, and dedicated housing for players at the Dilawar Abbas Tennis Complex.

In a statement, Khal Sohail said that the move, led by PTF President Asmullah Qureshi, has been widely praised by tennis players and sports circles across the country, which has identified a change phase for Pakistan’s tennis infrastructure.

The newly made gymnasium, spreads at 1,500 square feet, is equipped with modern fitness machines, including leg press, leg curl, leg extension, cable cross, and spin bikes, which provide players with the necessary strength and conditioning resources. In addition, 10 rooms for male players and three rooms for female players have been set up inside the complex, which offers the most essential residential facilities for outstations athletes.

The senior vice president of PTF highlighted another major development, which is PTF President Asmol Haq Qureshi, taking advantage of his personal contacts, hiring an internationally renowned coach and trainer Robert Davis (USA) and Serbian fitness expert Lalvuk. These experts conducted a two -week highly training sessions at the complex, which benefited the players significantly.

Terming these measures as a ‘excellent step towards lower -level tennis development’, Khel expressed confidence that the improvement would play an important role in raising young skills and increasing the competitive edge of Pakistani players internationally.
