Welcoming special lynx children at Lahore Safari Zoo

Lahore Safari zoo welcomes special loin cubs

LAHORE: Lahore Safari Zoo has welcomed seven new hummingbirds including two white hummingbirds in a recent development. The sudden increase in the zoo’s collection has made it increasingly popular among tourists.

Three tigresses gave birth to cubs, out of which one tigress gave birth to three cubs while the other two had two cubs each.
Apart from the tiger cubs, three healthy Royal Bengal tiger cubs were also born at the zoo in recent weeks.

According to zoo director Tanveer Ahmed Janjua, all the cubs are healthy. However, the four cubs were not accepted by their mothers and were hand-fed by zoo staff.

Before the tiger cubs, three Royal Bengal tiger cubs were born a few weeks ago. After the birth of these new cubs, the number of tigers in the zoo has increased from 22 to 29.

In another development, Port City Zoo’s only elephant, Madhubala, who is now 16 years old, has been shifted to a safari park, Four Paws (International Animal Welfare Organisation) announced on Tuesday.

The transfer of the last surviving lone elephant finally took place, and Madhubala now joins two other elephants, Sonia and Mallika, after almost fifteen years at the safari park.

Earlier, Four Paws had announced that Madhubala’s container entry and exit training had been successfully completed. Today the car carrying the elephant was picked up by Karne.

Basic support was provided for better and safer migration procedures during elephant transport, including briefings on clearing roads.
