ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has made it clear that government offices will remain open on Monday (tomorrow) in view of concerns over the law and order situation after the march of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to the federal capital.

“Tomorrow is not a holiday. [Monday]Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon said in a statement.

Earlier, the federal capital administration had announced that all educational institutions within the revenue limits of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) would remain closed tomorrow. No reason was given in the notification, but the government has locked down the city due to PTI’s protest.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked his supporters to march towards Islamabad on November 24 for democracy and judiciary. But Defense Minister Khawaja Asif believes the protest amounts to a “rebellion” as the former ruling party allegedly wants to capture the federal capital.

The Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder has made four demands to end the protests, while his wife has said that history will change when Khan is out of jail.

Khan’s PTI suffered a major blow on Thursday when the Islamabad High Court ruled that any protests or rallies that violate the recent law on public gatherings over the weekend due to the Belarusian president’s visit are allowed. will not be given.

The federal government has called in additional security forces to assist the capital’s administration in maintaining law and order during the protests.

Despite roadblocks and court orders, PTI convoys left for the capital from KP and Punjab in the afternoon. But Khan’s party believes that he was not heard in the case.
