Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan in the first ODI.
Bulawayo: Zimbabwe beat Pakistan by 80 runs (DLS method) in the first ODI of the three-match series played at the Queen’s Sports Club, Bulawayo.
Batting first, Zimbabwe set Pakistan a revised target of 206 after the rain affected the game. Pakistan’s chase failed as they managed to score just 60 runs for the loss of six wickets before the match ended under the DLS method.
With Zimbabwe now leading the series 1-0, it will be tough for Pakistan to bounce back.
On behalf of Pakistan, Abdullah Shafiq and Saeem Ayub scored 11 and 17 runs respectively while Kamran Ghulam scored 17 runs. Salman Ali Agha and Irfan Khan struggled and scored only 4 and 7 runs.
The rain delay proved crucial, as Zimbabwe took advantage of the conditions and maintained control throughout the match.
