A five-second robbery of Rs 5.5 million has been reported in Karachi.
KARACHI: On November 25, armed robbers looted Rs 55 lakh from the owner of an easy money shop in Karachi’s Quaidabad police station.
CCTV footage of the five-second robbery has surfaced online, showing the two armed robbers, who were wearing helmets to hide their faces, hold the shop owner at gunpoint and He grabbed a bag full of cash before escaping on a motorbike.
According to the Quaidabad Police, Rashid, the owner of the shop, said that he had Rs 35 lakh in his pocket and Rs 55 lakh in his bag, which he was going to deposit in the bank. The robbers managed to escape with only the bag.
A case has been registered in Quaidabad police station, further investigation is going on.
Earlier this month, 35 iPhones worth over Rs 60 lakh were stolen from a businessman near the water pump area of Karachi. Businessman Irfan Sadr was going to Rahim Yar Khan from Karachi after buying an iPhone from the mobile market.
The robbers stole the iPhones and caused a lot of financial loss to the businessman. The incident marks the 15th similar case involving traders, raising serious concerns about the safety and security of business owners in the city.
