ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Home Affairs has taken notice of the case of Mustafa Aamir, who was killed in Karachi last month.
The committee has issued a notice to the IG of Sindh, asking it to appear before the committee on Friday, February 28, 2025.
The notice states that IG Sindh, along with other relevant police officers, should provide details about this case, including information about Irmagan and drug business.
Earlier, the Sindh Home Department had canceled the Judge’s administrative powers in the Anti -Terrorism Court (ATC) 1 in the murder case of Mustafa Amir and issued a notification as directed by the Sindh High Court.
The move comes in light of a dispute over the refusal to remand for Irmagan, the main accused in the Mustafa Amir murder case through ATC1.
In response, the Sindh Home Minister wrote to the SHC formally to resolve the issue.
As a result, the ATC1 judge’s administrative powers have now been transferred to the judge in ATC3, following the High Court orders.
Earlier, the police had prepared two accused in the murder case of Mustafa Amir before the painting court.
Police presented Armaghan and Shiraz in the court of Judicial Magistrate South.
The court questioned the investigating officer, “Did you issue a notice to defense lawyers?”
The magistrate expressed disappointment over the performance of I/O, which could not parade the accused’s identity. Witnesses’ statements cannot be recorded under Section 164.
The court issued a notice to the accused’s lawyers and ordered the production of suspects on Thursday (Thursday).
The investigating officer had informed about the recording of the statements of two servants of the prime accused Arghan under Section 164.
Mustafa Amir was abducted by his friends at Karachi’s Defense Housing Authority (DHA) January 6 and was allegedly killed.
According to police, the youth’s friends filled his body in the trunk of his car and burned him in the Hub area of Balochistan.
