ISLAMABAD: All Party Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir Chapter Convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi has said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s claims of improvement in the situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are contrary to reality and based on lies.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi was talking to a delegation of Kashmiri refugees from Mirpur Division at the office of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference in Islamabad. The delegation was led by Malik Muhammad Aslam.
He said that the presence of more than 1 million Indian forces armed with modern weapons deployed in Occupied Kashmir negates the claims of Narendra Modi. He further said that due to the construction of railway lines, roads and tunnels by India in the occupied territory for military purposes, thousands of acres of fertile land of Kashmiri farmers are being encroached upon.
Ghulam Mohammad Safi said that Narendra Modi is the killer of thousands of Kashmiri youth and Kashmiri people have nothing to do with his visit. He said that the Modi government has deprived the occupied territory of its special status and state identity on August 5, 2019. In the meeting, tributes were paid to the late Hurriyat leader Malik Abdul Majeed for his unparalleled sacrifices for the freedom movement of Kashmir and prayers were prayed for his reward and elevation.
The delegation included Javed Minhas, Sardar Javed, Riaz Jaral, Zafar Javed Jaral, Shakur Mughal, Chaudhry Badr and Chaudhry Asif. Hurriyat leaders Pervez Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Mahmood Ahmed Sagar, Mohammad Farooq Rahmani, Shamim Shaal and Sheikh Abdul Mateen were also present in the meeting.
APHC-AJK leaders Qazi Imran, Khalid Shabbir, Imtiaz Butt, Abdul Rashid Butt and Saleem Malik in a joint statement in Islamabad said that the baseless claims of the Indian Prime Minister and Defense Minister regarding the situation in Occupied Kashmir are contrary to the ground situation. Pasban Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali said in a statement that India has turned Occupied Kashmir into a slaughterhouse where the Indian terrorist army is massacring Kashmiris in fake encounters.
He said that the Indian Army is committing the most serious war crimes and human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir. He said that the hands of Indian soldiers are stained with the blood of 12 lakh Kashmiris.
