Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is trying to increase the volume of provincial development portfolio by more than Rs 1 trillion in the next four years. All this has been made through the actions taken by the provincial government, as was revealed during a cabinet meeting held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandpur.

The meeting was attended by cabinet members, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretary, Senior Member Board of Revenue, and administrative secretaries.

The Chief Minister directed that all development and welfare projects be completed in a merit and transparent manner to achieve the desired results. He instructed cabinet members to regularly review the department’s performance and actively monitor the progress of development measures. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining quality standards and urged cabinet members to closely monitor projects in their respective districts and regions. Highlighting the importance of sustainable development and employment production, the Chief Minister said that these factors play an important role in eliminating terrorism and ensuring long -term stability and peace in the province.

At the beginning of the meeting, the cabinet was detailed in detail about progress on development schemes developed under the title of strategic high -impact flagship targets (shift). These measures are dedicated to advancing a comprehensive, equal and sustainable development agenda, which is focusing on raising the standard of living of citizens. At present it includes 51 projects of social, infrastructure and urban, economic development, environmental stability, governance and public administration and integrated sectarial methods, but more and more such projects will be consistently involved in time. ۔ The total financial value of these schemes is currently Rs 500 billion.

The cabinet conditionally approved the release of the special forum by June, 2027, subject to the release of funds by the federal government, so that the maximum monitoring of the ongoing and recently approved projects under permanent reconstruction and Effective management can be ensured. The purpose of the permanent reconstruction is to restore temporary homeless people (TDP) in integrated districts. In this regard, the Chief Minister emphasized that his government would do everything possible to develop the people of the integrated districts.

The cabinet also approved the inclusion of a non-ADP scheme in the ADP 2024-25, for its plan for the “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of House Initiative” project. Under this scheme, 130,000 households will be solarized across the province. The solar scheme will be provided to households allocated in proportion to the population of the districts. One part of the scheme will be free for poor families while the other will be under the bank loan partnership. This is an important step towards sustainable energy solution that is designed to empower communities by providing clean, reliable and renewable energy.

The cabinet approved land transfer / land allotment for construction of a warehouse in Chitral Upper District. The purpose of the warehouse is to strengthen the preparation level and the provincial disaster management authority access in this remote area.

The cabinet approved the transfer of state land to the Games and Youth Affairs Department for the establishment of Joan Markaz in Upper Chitral and Charsadda districts. It also approved the appointment of Chairperson and members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on Women. The cabinet approved the previous facts in the District Hango announcement of the emergency, which has provided facilities for the TDPs of the district. The emergency was announced on January 22, 2025, which was limited to handling the District TDPS in the temporary camps in Hangu.

Cabinet approves amendments to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Right to Information Act 2013.
