Swat: Police constable was martyred and three others were injured during an intelligence -based operation against a drug smuggler in Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.
According to Swat District Police Officer (DPO) Nasir Mehmood spokesman Moin Ali, the police launched the raid, killing a notorious drug and a prominent suspect in the murder of a notorious drug officer (SHO) Rahim Khan, a notorious drug and a prominent suspect. SHO Rahim was shot dead in December 2024 during a confrontation with drug smugglers in Mangora City.
Ali said that the police team had a severe fire when the suspect arrived at the hideout. Constable Niaz Mohammad was martyred in exchange, while additional sub -inspector (ASI) Amjad Iqbal, Constable Mohammad Hussain, and Constable Sarfraz were injured.
Despite resistance, security forces managed to neutralize Ahmadzib, who was wanted for a number of crimes, including the killing of SHO Rahim Khan. “Additional units were deployed to secure the area, and the operation lasted for about four hours,” said Mujib Alam, SHO Mujib Alam. He added that the police searched the four -storey building well and collected evidence from the scene.
The injured officers were shifted to Saidu Sharif Hospital, where doctors confirmed that they were in a stable condition.
Police sources confirmed that investigations are underway, efforts are underway to eliminate the remaining network of drug smugglers working in the region.
In this operation, a series of crackdowns against drug trafficking continues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier this month, a Peshawar court sentenced two excise police officers to life imprisonment for drug trafficking, while major drug visits were reported in Faisalabad and Dera Ismail Khan.
