The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) fined 22 food outlets a total of Rs 350,000 during a surprising inspection in different areas of Lahore. The implementation process was led by PFA Director General Asim Javed, who also had food safety teams during the morning’s visit.
Teams inspected 49 seed points in Anarkali Food Street, Gulberg and Mozing, complying with food quality, hygiene standards, and existing food safety rules. About HALF half -outlets were violated while moving the fines immediately.
As part of the Enforcement Drive, the officials lost 100 liters of non -standard milk, a shaved, 37 liters of low quality ghee, and the vegetables. Many shops were found using contaminated spices, using unhealthy freezer and failing to maintain food safety documents.
The PFA noted that in many of these places, food handlers lack the necessary medical and training certificates. DG Asim Javed said that the businesses also ignored the preliminary directives issued by the authority, which indicated strict action.
Since the beginning of the month, the PFA has inspected 74,382 food points that served across Punjab and Iftar. The authority says it will continue unannounced visits in Ramadan to ensure the quality of public health.
