The federal government has canceled the weekly holiday of schools and colleges in Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Education Authority has informed that all government educational institutions will be open immediately on Saturday to compensate for the loss of education due to the recent holidays.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued a notification in this regard on Friday. As per notification, Islamabad Model Schools/Colleges will observe Saturday as working day from 30 November 2024 to 01 February 2025.

“It has been decided by the Competent Authority that Saturday will be observed as working day from 30-11-2024 to 01-02-2025 in all educational institutions functioning under the purview of Federal Directorate of Education” .

“All educational institutions will observe six working days with pre-notified official timings,” the notification said.

The decision was taken after the closure of educational institutions in the federal capital for crucial days in the last two months due to continuous state-level visits, including by the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and political unrest.
