Rawalpindi: An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release on Wednesday said that during an intelligence-based operation in general area Spinwam of North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) in an exchange of fire with security forces. Four Khawarij were killed.
“On the night of 14/15 January 2025, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Spinwam district of North Waziristan on information about the presence of Khawarij,” the army’s media wing said.
The ISPR added that during the operation, the security forces effectively searched the location of the Khawarij and killed 4 of them after a fierce exchange of fire.
It said that arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain Khawarij, who were active in several terrorist acts against the security forces as well as target killing of innocent civilians.
“A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any other outsiders found in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR added.
A day earlier, security forces in Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) killed eight Khawarij in two Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) on Tuesday.
The media wing of the army says that the operation was conducted on the information of the presence of terrorists in Tank and Khyber districts of the province.
ISPR said that an intelligence-based operation was conducted by security forces in Tank district on information about the presence of Khawarij. It added that during the operation, the security forces worked effectively at the Khawarij location and as a result six of them were killed.
In another encounter that took place in Wadi Tirah district of Khyber, security forces successfully neutralized two Khawarij.
On January 13, security forces killed 27 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kutch district of Balochistan, the army’s media wing said in a statement on Monday.
An ISPR statement said security forces raided a “terrorist hideout” in the Kutch area of Balochistan province and killed 27 insurgents in an intelligence-led operation.
