Peshawar: Officials said Saturday that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police personnel repelled terrorist attacks at four police stations and a check post in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts overnight and no casualties were reported.

According to police official statements, the terrorists targeted two police stations in Lakki Marwat last night while two policemen were injured in a roadside blast. Meanwhile, another two police station and a check post were attacked in Bannu.

The prohibited TTP claimed responsibility for all these attacks in both districts.

Lakki Marwat police said that the terrorists attacked Grandma and Pizu police stations on Friday night, but “the two attacks were repelled due to timely action by the police.” No casualties were reported in any of the attacks.

However, the statement added that two policemen were injured while one of the attackers was killed in retaliation when a roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle on Lakki Marwat’s Landiya Road.

KPIGP praised the policemen to remove the attacks

In a statement issued after the failed attacks, KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed paid tribute to the police force for repealing the attacks.
